CSS
Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) is a simple mechanism for adding style (e.g. fonts, colors, spacing) to Web documents. Style sheets describe how documents are presented on screens, in print, or perhaps how they are pronounced. By attaching style sheets to structured documents on the Web (e.g. HTML), authors and readers can influence the presentation of documents without sacrificing device-independence or adding new HTML tags.

HTML
Ca HTML is the lingua franca for publishing hypertext on the World Wide Web. It is a non-proprietary format based upon SGML, and can be created and processed by a wide range of tools, from simple plain text editors - you type it in from scratch- to sophisticated WYSIWYG authoring tools. HTML uses tags such as and to structure text into headings, paragraphs, lists, hypertext links etc.

Plug-Ins

QuickTime VR
technology allows you to interact with a 360 degree virtual scene, made from still photographs of an actual scene. The best experience is obtained with QuickTime 3.0 (or later). If you do not have QuickTime installed and do not want to download it now.

The QuickTime plug-in is free, and can be downloaded from Apple Computer's Web site.

RealPlayer In order to view the videos and audios on the site, you need RealPlayer 8. All videos are streamed (you may view them immediately without waiting for downloading) and are provided in different qualities depending on your bandwidth. If you have a telephone modem, the video will be of lower quality compared to having a fast Internet connection. If you can't see any of our on-demand videos, the problem might be that you are trying to access them from behind a firewall which may cause problems. In this case, please ask your system administrator to adjust the firewall to accept streaming.

The RealPlayer basic is free, and can be downloaded from the RealNetworks Web site.

Shockwave Highly interactive multimedia content and simulations need some sort of programming language to define the rules behind them. Shockwave from Macromedia is a preferred file format which contains a powerful scripting language that enables almost anything to be done. To view most of our interactive materials you will need the Shockwave plug-in. Shockwave is often used in combination with Flash

Bandwith is generally a problem on the WWW. To go around this problem, Macromedia has developed a streamed file format for imaging and animation called Flash. The file sizes tend to be very small and streaming long animations over slow modem connections are possible. It is often used in combination with Shockwave.
